About

This is a passion project. I have always been a collector of coins and stamps. I love the stories and history behind each item.

Welcome to CoinStampDB

Where every artifact has a voice.

Hi there! I’m the face behind CoinStampDB.

If you’ve ever held a denarius from the Roman Republic or a Penny Black stamp and felt a rush of curiosity about whose hands it passed through or what world events it witnessed—you’re in the right place.

For years, my dream was to work as a professional cataloguer at a major auction house. I wanted to be the one digging through archives, verifying provenance, and writing those beautiful descriptions that bring a collection to life. But, as life often goes, the “traditional” path didn’t open up for me. After one too many rejection letters, I realized I didn’t need a desk at a fancy auction house to do what I love.

I started CoinStampDB as a passion project to build the resource I always wanted: a place where the story of the item is just as important as its grade or market value.

The YouTube Channel: Stories in Your Pocket

On our YouTube Channel, we go beyond the technical specs. I dive deep into the “why” behind ancient coins and historic stamps. We talk about:

  • Ancient Empires: Holding a piece of silver that paid a Roman legionnaire.
  • Postal Mysteries: The rare errors and wartime covers that tell tales of survival.
  • The “Un-catalogued”: Exploring the quirky, odd, and overlooked items that the big auction houses might miss.

🏛️ The Database: Built for Collectors, by a Collector

This website is my digital lab. I’ve taken everything I learned from studying the pros and built a database designed for clarity and narrative. Whether you are a professional numismatist or just found a bag of “old coins” in the attic, our tools help you document your collection like a master cataloguer.

🤝 Coming Soon: The Skool Forum

Collecting can be a lonely hobby, but it shouldn’t be. We are launching a Skool Community very soon—a dedicated space for us to:

  • Share Finds: Post your latest “mail call” or metal detecting discovery.
  • Get Help: Crowdsource identifications for those tricky ancient Greek monograms or obscure overprints.
  • Learn Together: I’ll be hosting mini-courses on how to research and document your own items using professional techniques.

I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you’re here to research a single coin or to organize a lifelong estate, let’s keep these stories alive together.
